Terms of Service
Last updated July 14, 2026
These terms cover applying to, and attending, a MeetTheStreet gathering. By submitting an application you agree to them.
What we are
We organise small social gatherings in New York — usually 35 to 45 guests, run in two halves: games and conversation, then a low-stakes bit of street exploration led by someone who knows the neighbourhood. We are not a dating service.
Applying
Anyone 18 or over may apply. Applying does not guarantee a spot: seats are limited and we put each table together deliberately. If a gathering suits you, we send a personal invitation — not a mass email — and you have 72 hours to claim your seat before it goes to someone else.
Tell us the truth on the form. We may decline or cancel an application that turns out to be false.
Paying, and getting your money back
Tickets vary with the activity, typically $40–$60 a night. Food and drinks are on us. The exact price is shown before you commit to a seat, and you never pay anything by applying.
If you can no longer make it, tell us as early as you can so the seat can go to someone else. If we cancel an event, you get a full refund.
How to behave
The entire point is that everyone in the room is there for the same reason. So: be decent to the people you meet. Harassment, discrimination, and aggression get you removed from the event and barred from future ones, without a refund. This is not negotiable, and we do not need to litigate it with you.
Anything you learn about another guest at a gathering is theirs, not yours to publish. Do not photograph people who do not want to be photographed.
Photographs
We sometimes take photos at events and use them on this site. If you would rather not appear in them, tell us at the event or email us afterwards and we will leave you out, or take the photo down.
Risk
Our gatherings involve walking around New York and doing ordinary things in public places. You attend at your own risk, and you are responsible for your own safety and belongings. We are not liable for what other guests do.
Changes
We may change an event's activity, venue, or timing — we will tell you if we do, and you can pull out and get your money back. We may also update these terms; the date at the top says when they last changed.
